Position: Logistics Coordinator (Houston, TX)

Arrange efficient transportation methods for the incoming shipments to ensure timely and cost-efficient transportation of the goods purchased from vendors; Oversee complex outgoing shipping process from end-to-end including receiving, inventory control, picking, shipping, and quality control; Oversee quality initiatives including but not limited to inventory control, client facing metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives; Maintain standards of quality in the workplace and ensure all quality initiatives meet client expectations; Monitor the facility for continual process flow and organization.

Lead and Supervise the warehouse team to ensure proper staging and loading of products; Ensure standard operating procedures align with the objectives and expectations; Ensure the team is sufficiently effective to deliver on all customer expectations in accordance with the contract; Must effectively manage budget by monitoring and controlling expenses. Will develop techniques to improve profitability while striving to reduce operating expenses; Coordinate with corporate HR on recruiting, training and development, and employee relations, as well as ensuring that human resource activities are in compliance with local, state and federal government regulations; Oversee all safety programs to ensure standards of health, safety, and security are primed in the workplace;Ensure the leadership team creates the environment to emphasize adherence to all safety principles,procedures, human resource planning, effective training, facility management, internal audits,operational excellence, and financial management.

Monitor maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment; Plan and execute delivery schedules based on production schedules; Review orders using functional systems (e.g.barcodes and tracking software); Monitor and report on transportation costs; Ensure shipping documents are properly filed; Conduct regular safety inspections on equipment; Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of machines and handling of hazardous material); Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation; Serve as the primary escalation point for all logistics-related questions from internal parties; Control inventory levels by conducting physical audits and reconciliation with the company programs; Manage day-to-day relationship with shipping carriers and logistics partners, including but not limited to UPS, FedEx, and local courier partners.Collaborate with other departments (order management, project management, account management,sales, etc.) to build best in class processes. Create training manuals documenting all logistics processes.
